Guernsey is considered to be one of the most stable and secure offshore financial centres and as one of the Channel Islands is ideally situated being close to mainland Europe yet less than sixty minutes away from the UK by air. It benefits from stable infrastructure, a good education system and stable government.
It has the benefit of excellent postal and communication services and many of the world’s major banks and financial institutions have a presence in the Channel Islands.
Guernsey has its own Parliament, laws and system of taxation. There is no capital gains tax and non-residents (which includes trusts administered for the benefit of non-residents) do not pay income tax on bank interest arising in Guernsey.
If you are interested in becoming a resident of Guernsey. Individuals with a British passport have an automatic right of abode and can immediately buy and live in any of the many fantastic properties available with Guernsey's “open market”.
For individuals that are not British passport holders, you can also obtain a right to live here and occupy open market accommodation, via an entrepreneur visa. Generally individuals who can obtain “leave to enter” the UK can also reside in Guernsey.
